Research Room - Center City Philadelphia

GSP's Research Room at 215 S. Broad Street has closed; materials have been moved to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. See the Winter 2007 issue of Penn in Hand for more information.

The Society collects genealogical materials from Pennsylvania and its border states, including microfilmed church and cemetery records, some of which are not readily available elsewhere.

Remember to use our other research sources on the GSP web site: the surname index to bible records and manuscripts; the Rubincam index; and the list of microfilms of church records and other records (bible records, genealogies, funeral home and cemetery records, pastoral records, and more).

Location: The Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania is located in Center City Philadelphia at 1300 Locust St., 2nd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19107-5699, a few blocks south of City Hall and one block east of Broad Street.
Transportation and Parking: The Society is convenient to the Suburban and Market East Train Stations, Broad Street Subway (Walnut - Locust Station), Frankford -- 69 Street El Train, Septa Route 90, and Patco Line from New Jersey. There are several parking facilities within a one block radius of GSP.
